6 places offering junior dropoffs on Valentine's Day

Need couple-time on Valentines’ Day? We’ve found spots where you can “park” your little ones while you enjoy your date!

We all know how important couple-time is for time-starved parents. If you’re not in a position to “beg” your own parents or the in-laws for babysitting help, so that you can snag some much-needed time off, you’d be hard put to find a place that will keep your young ’uns safe, yet entertained. Here are several spots that promise to ensure that junior stays happy and safe while you get some paktor time!

Cookie & Monkey Kids Lounge

WHERE: #02-105 VivoCity, 1 Harbourfront Walk, 6222-2868.

WHAT: Open to kids aged 2 and above, this lounge boasts toys, as well as a TV, to keep your munchkin entertained. Besides supervising your kids, they will bring them to the bathroom when needed. In addition, since it’s home to plenty of restaurants (like Jamie’s and Modesto’s), ViviCity is a great place to enjoy a meal and maybe even a movie.

PRICE: It costs $15 for the first hour and $12 for subsequent hour thereafter.

Westgate Kids Club

WHERE: #05-03 Westgate Shopping Mall, 3 Gateway Drive, 6908-3736.

WHAT: If you live in the western part of the island, you’re probably already well-acquainted with this mall. But did you know it has a Kids Club on level 5? The huge variety of toys, books, Lego, colouring materials and even a Samsung Galaxy Tab kid’s tablet should thrill your little one. Westgate offers a plethora of dining and retail options, so you can have dinner, and even do a spot of shopping.

PRICE: Pay $15/two hours for the drop-off service ― available to kids aged 6 to 12. Or redeem two hours of play when you spend $30 at the mall (for Kids Club members) or $60  for non-Kid Club members

Fun N Laughter

WHERE: #B2-32 City Square Mall, 180 Kitchener Road, 6509-9766.

WHAT: This indoor playground doesn’t offer an official drop-off service, but a check with the staff shows that they do welcome drop-offs. To ease your anxiety, at least two minders will watch the kids while they play. The little ones will busy themselves at the slides, ball pits, climbing structures and toddler play area. So, go ahead and plan to chow down at the mall (pick from eateries like Momiji Japanese Buffet Restaurant and Breeks Café), or take in a movie at GV Cineplex.

PRICE: Unlimited play on weekdays for kids above 2 years costs $18, whole those under 2 pay $12. On weekends, a two-hour play slot costs $23 and $16 respectively.

It has three 30-minute programmes for your child ― either a reading, cooking or gym session. Though the service will not be offered on 6 and 13 February because of Chinese New Year, it’ll resume on 20 February. Do keep this place in mind if you ever want a breather with the hubs. Dropping your kid off right in the heart of Orchard Road means you’ll have your pick of countless lovely dining options for your one-on-one.
