You’ll only realise how true that old cliché “babies don’t come with a manual” rings when you’re actually caring for a child of your own. While most mums thrive in their new caregiver roles, dads, on the other hand, tend to feel left behind and struggle to find their footing in the parenting world.

As challenging as it can be to figure out fatherhood, it hasn’t stopped hands-on husbands from rising to the occasion. They change diapers and wipe spit-ups like pros, aren’t afraid to get up in the middle of the night to settle bub and oh, our favourite ― wake up with the kiddos in the morning, so mums can sleep in.

Husbands are indeed a godsend when it comes to parenting, but most times, their efforts go unnoticed… or so they think!

SmartParents asks local celeb mums what makes their better half such hot and dedicated dads. Scroll through the photo gallery to read more about the heart-warming anecdotes they shared.

“He is my equal partner in our parenting journey together, and seeing what an amazing father he is, makes him even 'hotter' in my eyes, besides the fact that he is already attractive to begin with!” Ex-MTV VJ Teh Choy Wan, 35, says of her 37-year-old Indonesian-Chinese husband Michael Tanujaya, who works in real-estate investment. Choy is in awe of her other half’s daily commitment to taking care of their 1-year-old son Dylan James and her. Ever since fatherhood beckoned, she says her love for him has grown deeper with each passing day. “He knows when I need the extra rest or time out, and happily takes on a little more on harder days like that.” (Photo: Teh Choy Wan)
