Watch a 3D Digital Dome Movie
The Science Centre’s Omni-Theatre has launched its inaugural 3D Digital Dome movie. Called Natural Selection 3D, it’s based on British naturalist Charles Darwin’s scientific journeys around the world, his discovery of the evolution of life on Earth and his theory of natural selection. You’ll put on special Xpand Active Shutter 3D glasses where the wide-viewing angle lets you experience realism and full-colour accuracy. Other digital movies and live planetarium shows will also be screened ― get the schedule here. Each show, costing $14, lasts 30 to 40 minutes. Get your tickets here.
Check out a new indoor playground
Waka Waka is Polliwog’s latest indoor playground concept located at Furama Riverfront Hotel. The Safari-themed play space is packed with “essentials” like tunnels, slides and trampolines. There’s also a Waka Adventure Cove area which includes an obstacle rope course, a totem challenge, and climbing walls that will appeal to the older kids. The toddlers aren’t forgotten ― a junior area caters to those under 90cm in height. Parents will love the free Wifi in the spacious Chillax Area, and don’t miss the engaging performances by the favourite Polliwogians characters. Prices start at $18 for kids under 90cm, and $23 for those above 90cm. Separate charges apply for the Waka Adventure Cove area.
Visit the zoo
It’s the last weekend of Zoo-rassic Park, so make sure to hurry down to the Singapore Zoo and River Safari before it’s over! Your peewees will encounter 16 lifelike animatronic displays of dinosaurs, as well as participate in dino-related activities, face-painting and other crafts. Singapore Zoo and River Safari dual park combo tickets are going at $39 per adult and $25 per child (3 to 12 years old).
Catch a storytelling adventure
Take the kids to library@Esplanade this weekend for an interactive storytelling session. Happy to be Red, the story of a crayon whose friends help him to turn red, includes lots of interactive elements using character puppets and props. Guided by facilitators from ACTs of Life, two sessions are available ― at 2.30pm and 4pm, on both Saturday and Sunday. Each free-of-charge activity is an hour long. Admission ― on a first-come-first-served basis ― starts half an hour before each session.
Scale new heights
Get your adrenaline pumping at the newest fun climbing theme park, Clip ‘n Climb, which is located at HomeTeamNS Tampines. Junior will love the bright colours, as well as the interesting patterns and textures of the 15 themed climbing walls, each with their own unique name, like Jack and the Beanstalk and Cloud Nine. Kids of all ages are welcome to climb (as long as they are above 10kg). A 90-minute experience costs $25 (discounts available for Clip ‘n Climb members and PA/Safra members).
