Even a Dempsey Road regular could easily zoom by this eatery without noticing it. Located next to Long Beach Seafood Restaurant, you’ll need to walk down a short flight of stairs to the 150-seater restaurant that offers both air-conditioned and al fresco dining areas.

What catches your eye though, is the wide expanse of space and greenery, in which a three-tier play structure and bouncy castle sit. But, more on that later.

First, settle down for a nice cuppa (I had a rich, frothy cappuccino, $7), while you peruse the menu. You could also order a glass of red or white wine, from $11.50 a glass, or a variety of cocktails from $12 a glass.

Pick from a variety of starters ― we hear that the Deep Fried Chicken Wings ($12/6 pieces) are popular. These come with the choice of Thai Chilli Sauce, Hot Sauce, Wasabi Mayo, or BBQ Honey Sauce. The kids also couldn’t keep their hands off the Truffle Fries ($9.80), which are slathered with a generous amount of truffle oil.

Tree Lizard offers a compact yet comprehensive menu. The bacon-wrapped Chicken Roulade ($22.80), served with a chorizo sauce, is a favourite. But we were won over by the Herb-Crusted Seabass Fillet ($24.80) ― the silky smooth fish fillet paired perfectly with the yuan-yang teriyaki sauce which is, get this, infused with tea and coffee.

Round off your meal with a classic chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream ($7.80). This one ― with molten Valrhona dark chocolate oozing from the core ― didn’t disappoint.

After junior chooses his meal from the children’s menu (each main costs $9.80++), he can check out the toys at the mini-indoor play area while waiting for the food to be served.

Though the portion was a tad small, the Macaroni and Cheese certainly pleased my 2-year-old, while my 4-year-old quickly devoured his Hawaiian Pizza. Other items include Mini Beef Burgers and Spaghetti Bolognaise.

Once done with dinner, watch your peewees race down to the wide open space to check out the huge climbing structure that includes tunnels, slides and a little playhouse for the littler ones.

Besides a see-saw and swings, up to six kids can tumble around in the bouncy castle.

Parents, do try and secure a table next to the play area, so that you can sip wine and enjoy the beautiful views and sunset, even as you monitor junior.
