Can’t get enough sun, sand and sea? Then you’ll want to check out this 560-sq m eatery at Parkland Green, East Coast Park’s latest lifestyle development. The tagline is “Eat, Drink, Plunge” — it offers two plunge pools for diners’ use. Since public toilets with showers are right next door, you needn’t fret about where to clean your peewees up after their dip.

Whether you sit inside or dine al fresco, you can be sure of a welcome breeze and relaxing views, since the front of the restaurant faces the beach. The extensive menu consists of bar bites, pastas, pizza and mains. We started with super-crisp calamari with Cajun aioli, $15, and a refreshing fruit mesclun salad, $15 — a great way to beat the heat.

We also enjoyed the heartier dishes like the chef-recommended BBQ baby back ribs, $26, while my burger-loving husband gave the thumbs up to the SandBank beef burger, $23. If you have a craving for carbs, check out the pastas and pizzas — the SandBank Hawaiian Pizza, $25, is delish, though a tad spicy, while the fungi pasta, $15, is just the ticket for kiddos who love mushrooms.

Though we were urged to try the chocolatey desserts, the New York Cheese Cake, $13.50, made a great ending to our fairly heavy meal. Best of all, we were won over by the nett prices (no service charge!), plus, the unlimited servings of ice-cold water quenched our thirst perfectly!

Tot-O-Meter: Settling the kids in this spacious restaurant is easy — the service staff readily whipped out colouring materials, so we could peruse the menu in peace. Though simple, the children’s menu — fare such as fish and chips, pasta and mac and cheese — should please junior. Priced from $8.90, every set comes with fries, nuggets and fruit. Once their little tummies are filled, your munchkins are bound to make a beeline for the plunge pools. You can easily keep an eye on them at the pool-side seats while sipping your cappuccino, $6.50, or a refreshing homemade lemonade, $6. Bliss! MT
