1. Peppa Pig This animated television series is centered around a family of – you guess it – pigs. Peppa pig, the daughter of the family, takes the center stage and the series chronicles adventures with her family – Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and George her brother. Punctuating their British accented tones with snorts, Peppa Pig has other animal friends – namely, Freddy Fox’s, Emily Mouse and Rebecca Rabbit. Episodes are also peppered with songs, dance and plenty of laughter which makes it a delight for tot to watch.

2. Pororo the Little Penguin A South Korean animated cartoon series produced by Iconix Entertainment, Pororo the Little Penguin lives in a utopian little valley where the sunshine is the warmest and the cold winter is the least harsh. This inquisitive impish little penguin makes fast friends with good-natured polar bear Poby, smug nosy fox Eddy, shy and timid little beaver Loopy, happy-go-lucky humming bird Harry and mischievous dinosaur Crong. Together, Pororo and his friends get into all sorts of trouble and mischief but their kind hearts and strong friendship always saves the day.

3. Tayo the Little Bus Drawing similarities to British cartoon Thomas the Train and Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Tayo is a determined blue bus with a can-do attitude that is always ready to help. Children learn valuable lessons such as being helpful, patient and learning to do things for the first time. Boys especially, will appreciate the colourful animation and heartwarming storylines that Tayo the Little Bus brings.

4. Doc McStuffins Premiering on Disney Channels, this show is about a girl who can talk and “fix” toys, with help from her friends. With energetic, rhythmic music and sing-alongs, the series features vividly constructed characters in the form of Doc McStuffins toys - including dragons, hippos and lambs. There is never ending excitement for children to watch as the plot twists and turns at every corner, usually when Doc McStuffins has to scramble to fix toys without letting anyone know her ability to communicate and fix them.
