1. Count backwards from 30 to 10 — in threes.
Counting to 10 is too easy, it won’t calm you down. Doing something that you have to concentrate on will distract you.
2. Seeing things from her perspective can help.
Remember she’s tiny and you’re the grown-up, so model the behavior you want her to learn.
3. Keep a baby picture in your purse.
When she’s throwing a tantrum, look at it. You’ll trigger a release of oxytocin — the attachment hormone — in your brain and feel less grouchy instantly.
