You know a spot has something going for it when it’s full on a Monday night. Set amid lush greenery, Una has a chill, laidback vibe, especially if you choose to dine outdoors. Since it specialises in Spanish eats, you’ll feast on paella and tapas as well as mains prepared at the open-air grill.
Our favourite appetiser — Ibérico ham croquette, $14, a crispy potato croquette with a rich and creamy centre — is a dish your little ones will surely dig. But be warned, it can be very filling, so offer it to junior judiciously! Other toothsome tapas to try — tender grilled octopus, $22, with potatoes and scallops la plancha, veal cheek and Ibérico crisps, $24. Carb lovers will go for the seafood-and-chicken paella, $55 (serves two to three), $75 (serves four to six); while fans of crackling will like the crispy roast suckling pig, $35, which comes with mashed potatoes.
Leave room for dessert, too, like the always popular churros, $12. Served with a delish dark-chocolate sauce and honey ice cream, it’s a decadent end to your relaxing repast.
Tot-O-Meter: If your tot tires of exploring the greenery-filled space, he can sit down with colouring sheets that Una staff will hand him till his meal comes. The bonuelos de bacalao, $24 — salted cod fritters in bitter orange sauce — is a hit with mini-munchers. Your little one will also like the Spanish eggs Benedict that’s found in the Sunday brunch menu ($65++/adults, $37.50++/kids under 12, children under 6 eat free), which features smoked salmon. By the way, he’ll really like spooning up the fun panna cotta with popcorn fluff, $12. It’s worth every calorie, thanks to the sweet-salty contrast!
