#1 Fire Station Open House

Price: Free

Is your family up bright and early? You’ll want to consider attending the Fire Station Open House that’s held every Saturday morning. Your kid can watch firefighters sprinting into action and saving the day, and also learn about the different equipment used. Don’t worry, you’ll also get plenty of photo ops, so don’t miss this chance for an interactive and educational day at the fire station! In fact, this doesn’t take place only in Sengkang, but all over Singapore as well.

#2 Hai Bin Punggol

Price: Walk-in: 1 hour: $20/rod, 2 hours (+ 1 hour free): $36/rod

Enjoy prawn fishing here with your family, since it boasts four prawning ponds and is open 24/7. You and your brood can kick back after all that hard work and tuck into the crustaceans you’ve caught and barbecued (free pit available). #3 Sengkang Riverside Park

Since your little one will spend the day admiring what nature has to offer ― from mangroves to fruit trees, your family outing will be a great learning experience for junior. Birds you can spot here include the Collared Kingfisher and the Purple Heron. Fuel up at the affordable Mushroom Café, which serves local favourites like mee rebus and curry chicken, priced from $3 to $5.50. Does the weather seem too torrid or overcast for outdoor activities? No worries, you can avoid the sun and rain while havings lots of water fun! Safra Punggol has an indoor water playground containing four slides of different heights ― two of the larger slides are for older kids who must be at least 1.2m tall. Another section contains water guns, so that your kid will have a splashing and soaking good time. You can even host your mini-me’s birthday bash here, since it has three themed party rooms! Thanks to kid-friendly bumpers, your little one can take part in bowling fun at Orchid Bowl. Simply adjust the settings whenever your kiddo plays ― how convenient! By the way, mini-bowlers will use the special 5-pound ball with five holes (easier for them to hold the ball).
