Being a young parent has its perks. The age gap between you and your child is smaller, so you can relate to them better and you may even have similar interests, which can help you bond with them better. 

 

While the trend today is to put off having kids until later in order to focus on ones career, these celebs have proved to be able to do both at the same time, and ace it!

 

Here are 12 celebrities who started a family even before celebrating their 25th birthday…

#1 Reese Witherspoon

The Legally Blonde actress was only 23 when had her first child, Ava Elizabeth Philippe, now 18. Her then-husband actor Ryan Phillippe was also just a year older than her when they became parents for the first time. Witherspoon, 42, has always been open about her struggles as a young mum, once saying that she felt she missed out on some of the fun girls her age got to have. On the upside, she does love the close bond she shares with her daughter. In her blog, Love, Reese, she writes about how similar they are in opinion and that they can talk for hours.  Witherspoon also shares a son Deacon Reese, 14, with ex Phillipe, 43, and has another son Tennessee James Toth, 5, with current husband and talent agent Jim Toth, 48. #2 Liam Payne

The Strip that down singer and ex-One Direction member Liam Payne, 24, and his singer ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole, 34, had their first baby together in March 2017. Payne previously admitted during a radio interview that he wasn’t too sure about the unique they gave their son, Bear Grey Payne. But now he agrees the name Bear seems like a natural fit for his little one. In a recent interview, Payne waxes lyrical about his new title as dad, “I have to do all this stuff because I want to provide a bright future for him,” he once said, adding that it’s always difficult to leave the little one behind when he goes on tours. #3 Louis Tomlinson

Fellow One Direction band member, Louis Tomlinson, now 26, also had his first son at the tender age of 23. He shares custody of his little boy Freddie Reign, 2, with ex-girlfriend and stylist Briana Jungwirth, 26. Tomlinson once said in an interview that he finds fatherhood cool, and enjoys every part of being a father. #4 Victoria Beckham and David Beckham

It feels like they’ve been together forever, but if you do your math you’ll realise that fashion designer Victoria Beckham and hubby football star David Beckham were only 24, and 23, respectively when they had their first son Brooklyn. Brooklyn, who didn’t have a clue about his parents’ fame until he was 13, is now a celeb in his own right. The budding photographer released his collection of snaps in a book titled What I see in 2017. Songstress Adele, was only 24 when she gave birth to her son Angelo Konecki in 2012. The Hello singer, who shares Angelo with hubby Simon Konecki, 44, kept her pregnancy on the down low, announcing it only when she was well into her third trimester. But she did however, write a song just for her mini-me titled Sweetest Devotion, which also features Angelo’s vocals in the song's intro. “I've been looking for you, baby, in every face that I've ever known. #6 Hannah Quinlivan

Taiwanese model-actress Hannah Quinlivan – better known as Mr Jay Chou – gave birth to her first child, daughter Hathaway, at the young age of 21 back in 2015. Hubby Jay Chou, 39, and Quinlivan, now 24, also have son, Romeo, born in 2017. Alas, this is as much as the world knows about their offspring, as the famous parents are adamant about protecting their kids’ privacy by only posting pictures where their faces are hidden. #7 Britney Spears

Back in her early days as the princess of pop, Britney Spears, now 36, was one quoted in an interview saying that she wanted to be a young mum. She also stated that she would be ready to have a baby by age 23 – which is exactly when she ended up expecting her first son Sean, now 12. A year later, she gave birth to second son Jayden James, 11. Spears had both her boys with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 40, whom she divorced a few years after the kids came along. Spears has on several occasions noted how hard it is to be a single mum. “The balance between work and personal life can be a challenge,” she once said. “I always do my best to plan my schedule around my family whenever possible”. #8 Sofia Vergara   

Best known for her role as Gloria Prichett in the hit comedy Modern Family, Colombian model-actress Sofia Vergara, now 45, was only 19 when she had her son Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara with singer Joe Gonzalez, 39. “I was a single mother very early, and what made me wake up every day, what made me be responsible, was that I had the motivation that I needed to make money, to give my son all the things that I thought that he needed,” Vergara once said in an interview. #9 Niki Taylor

Nineties supermodel Niki Taylor was also only 19 when she had twin boys Jake and Hunter with first husband Matt Martinez back in 1994. The boys were just toddlers when they made their modelling debut, gracing the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in 1996 with mum. Hunter has continued in his mother’s professional steps, recently walking in fashion shows for brands like Hermes and Cedric Charlier. Modelling isn’t the only common thing Taylor shares with her sons. In a 2010 interview, Taylor was quoted as saying, “they [she and her sons] like the same music and movies and think the same things are cool”. The Bride Wars actress was 25 when she had her son Ryder Robinson, 14, with ex-husband, musician Chris Robinson, 51. “I’m so happy that I had a child so young. He is my buddy,” the actress, now 39 once said. “We’re close, and I am his mum. I’m big on manners. I’m big on politeness. I’m big on gratitude. Pop superstar Beyonce’s baby sister Solange Knowles, was a young 18-year-old when she had her son Daniel Julez J. Smith, Jr, now 13, with ex-husband Daniel Smith in October 2004. Knowles, 31, opened up about how she felt as a teen mum, describing it as “one of the most bittersweet moments of her life because she was so in love with Julez”. #12 Ashlee Simpson

Singer Ashlee Simpson, 33, and ex-husband, Fall Out Boy band member Pete Wentz, 39, had their first child, Bronx Mowgli Wentz in 2008, when Simpson was 23. Wentz once said in a radio interview that the couple had named their son Mowgli as they had bonded over the story of The Jungle Book. Simpson also has a daughter, Jagger Snow Ross, 2, with current husband and actor Evan Ross, 29.
